Publications International, Ltd. Announces iCookbook™ App for Windows 8

Award winning cooking app iCookbook from Publications Internation to be one of the first new apps on the Windows 8 platform.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 29, 2012 Publications International, Ltd. (PIL) is pleased to announce that the iCookbook™ application will be available for Windows 8 Consumer Preview via the Windows Store. iCookbook™ will be reconfigured to the Window 8 Metro style user interface and will include the extensive collection of recipes and cooking tools for the home chef that made it one of the hottest cross-platform apps of the past year.

iCookbook™ has impressed tech-savvy cooks across the world with its unique design. It’s built from the ground up to be an “in the kitchen” tool that cooks can use not just as a meal-planning aide, but throughout the entire meal preparation process. iCookbook™ comes pre-loaded with more than 2,000 recipes for every occasion that can be sorted by meal, ingredient, cuisine, and more.

Beyond iCookbook’s impressive collection of recipes, the app features:

  • A large-display “Prepare” feature for easy reading in the kitchen
  • “Stir” random recipe selection for those days when you just can’t decide or want to try something new
  • Guides for measurement conversions and ingredient substitutions

“We are excited that iCookbook™ will be available in the Windows Store,” said Jerry Croft, president of PIL’s Cooking and Digital Media divisions. “The Visual Studio tools have allowed us to re-imagine iCookbookTM with a fantastic new user interface that delivers a consistent experience across both tablets and personal computers.”

iCookbook will be available worldwide in the Windows Store with the release of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview. For more information about iCookbook or to receive a demo copy for evaluation, please contact Aaron Watkins at Appency Public Relations. Press images are available here.

(Los Angeles) – You’re hearing The Lorax buzz and seeing the mustached forest guardian everywhere. Now you can download The Official Lorax App for Android and iPhones, and turn yourself and your friends into The Lorax himself… for free!

The app has two main features. The first gives you the ability to hold your phone in front of your mouth, and as you talk a full-screen Lorax mouth moves along with your words. It’s great fun. You can sing songs, tell stories, or even read along with Dr. Seuss as he tells the tale of The Lorax!

The other exciting and fun feature lets you give yourself and your friends The Lorax mustache. You can hold your camera in front of someone’s face, adjust the size and placement of the mustache, and then take a picture. You can also place The Lorax mustache over an image you already have on your device.

Sharing the fun with friends is super simple. The Lorax app gives you the ability to post your fun image directly to Facebook or Twitter. Users can also share their images with their friends and family with the Postcardin’ feature. The Lorax app comes with two free Postcardin’ shares.

Download it today. Get in on the fun. Stache your friends. Stache your family. Stache yourself.

And did we mention The Lorax app is free?!

From the creators of Despicable Me comes the animated feature film adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, a beloved cautionary tale of environmental conservation wrapped up in a colorful children’s story.  The 3D-CG animated adaptation is an adventure that follows the journey of idealistic 12-year-old Ted (voiced by Zac Efron) while he searches for a real Truffula Tree for Audrey (voiced by Taylor Swift), in order to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find one, he must learn the story of the Lorax (voiced by Danny DeVito) from the enigmatic and bitter old hermit, known as the Once-ler (voiced by Ed Helms), who let the temptation of greed and success get the better of him.

Remember When Virtual Pets Were All The Rage?!

Hatchi app teleports you back to the key-chain friends of old…

(London, England) – They say there’s a Hatchi born every minute… and that’s just the beginning of the fun. Hatchi, by Portable Pixels Ltd., is a retro app rebooted for a new generation of fun-loving virtual pet owners. iPhone users can now nurture, clean, feed and play with their pets, right from their device.

The Hatchi reboot comes with all the things you love about virtual pets. Your Hatchi monster will go through several stages of growth (if you are a nurturing parent!), and will develop differently depending on the quality of care the player provides. A successfully raised Hatchi monster will be smarter, happier and require less attention.

Notifications remind pet owners when their little monsters need attention. You can also share Hatchi experience through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Other fun, new additions include:

  • New Food
    • Including apples, bread, cake, ice cream and turkey legs
  • Evolution
    • From egg, baby, child, teenager and adult
    • Several new forms your Hatchi can take (more than double the earlier versions)
  • New Endings
    • Take your adult Hatchi to the Forest Sanctuary to let him/her live his/her life in peace
    • Go to the Hatchi graveyard to lay your friends to rest
  • And, umm, pooping… seriously, it was the most requested new feature

Portable Pixels Ltd is a privately owned iPhone, iPad and Android development agency based in London with clients including Wallpaper* magazine, Audi, Alfa Romeo and Imperial College London.
